“Every page comes from a place I have actually stood. This is not theory for me. It is lived.”
Tyra K. Little writes from the place where lived experience meets practice. A mother who has outlived two of her three sons and chosen healing over bitterness, she has turned profound personal loss into a life of service and a body of work devoted to how we grieve and how we show up for one another.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Both Sides of the Coin Initiative, a nonprofit grounded in the conviction that healing must reach every side of loss, and the Founder and Chief Strategist of Living Proof with Tyra, a trauma-informed strategy firm. A Certified Trauma-Informed Practitioner who holds a Certificate in Trauma-Informed Practices from Columbia College and a B.S. in Legal Studies from South University, she brings both discipline and compassion to the work.
Tyra is also an Everytown Survivor Fellow and a United States military veteran with nearly 21 years of combined Navy and Air Force service. Her commitment to service continues in public office, where she serves the people of Richland County, South Carolina, as Councilwoman.
Faith anchors everything she does. A proud grandmother, she writes to give grief the dignity it deserves.
